Terms of use
Last updated 2 October 2026
Global Gratitude is free to use. Using it means agreeing to the few things below, which mostly amount to: it is for thanking people, so please only use it for that.
What the site is for
Writing a short note of thanks to someone, and either emailing it to them, saving it, or posting it to the public wall. That is the whole service.
What you may not use it for
- Sending anything unwanted. Email a card to someone who would want to hear from you. Do not use it for marketing, bulk sending, newsletters, or messages to people who have asked you to stop.
- Harassment. Nothing threatening, abusive, hateful, or designed to upset the person receiving it.
- Impersonation. Do not sign a card with someone else's name to make them appear to have written it.
- Other people's private information. No addresses, phone numbers, or personal details of people who have not agreed to it.
- Links and advertising. Cards may not contain links or email addresses. The site rejects them automatically.
- Automated use. No scripts, scrapers, or bulk submissions. The endpoints are rate limited and automated traffic will be blocked.
The public wall
Posting a card to the wall makes it public and readable by anyone, including through the search box. Post nothing you would mind a stranger reading.
Cards may be removed from the wall at any time, for any reason, without notice. To have one taken down, email hello@globalgratitudes.com.
Some cards on the wall are examples written to show what a thank-you can look like, rather than messages between two people. This is noted on the wall itself.
Help with writing
If you ask the site to help word a card, the text is drafted by an AI model from the details you give it. You always see the result and can edit it before anything is sent. Whatever is sent is your message, and you are responsible for it. If you prefer, choose "I've got the words" and write it yourself, in which case nothing you type is sent to a model.
What you keep
The words you write stay yours. By posting a card to the wall you give permission to display it on the site. That is the only permission taken, and it ends when the card is removed.
What is not promised
The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee. Email delivery depends on the recipient's mail provider and cannot be guaranteed: a card may be delayed, filtered as spam, or not arrive. The site may be unavailable, may change, or may close.
To the extent the law allows, Global Gratitude is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Age
The site is intended for people aged 13 and over.
